Entry Requirements

How to qualify?

At NP, we believe that in order to provide each and every student with a fruitful educational experience, it is vital that students are able to handle the academic rigour of our courses. As a result, students must meet the entry requirements in order to be considered for our courses.

In general, students considering the 3-year full-time diploma courses should have obtained at least 5 credits in their relevant subjects in their GCE ‘O’ Level examination or equivalent high school examinations.

If you are interested in a Business-related course, it would be advantageous if you have obtained good grades for English, Mathematics, a Humanities subject and two other best subjects. Should your preference be for a Technology or Engineering-related course, good grades for English, Mathematics, a relevant Science subject and two other subjects would be favourable . For Design-related courses, your results should include good grades in English, Mathematics, a relevant Science/Art subject and two other subjects.

Applicants using international qualifications (Cambridge 'O' level-equivalent / the public examination taken upon graduation at high school level or entrance examination to the university) who have scored 'A's and 'B's or above 75% for all core subjects would stand a higher chance of being shortlisted. Check out more details on admission matters for International Students .

Given that competition is highly keen for a place at NP, it is important that our selection process is a fair and open one. Selection is thus based on academic merit, and subject to vacancies available. You may want to check out some tips on admission to help you in making a more informed decision.

Here are the specific course entry requirements (based on the GCE 'O' level entry qualification) to help you decide on the courses you are eligible to apply for. Besides meeting the course entry requirements, eligible candidates must also meet the requirement for aggregate computation. Click here for more information on aggregate computation.
