What is a Portfolio?A portfolio is a collection of key evidence supporting the claims you make in your application. Your portfolio should give interviewers a sense of what your talent/s and interests are. It should also give them a feel for who you are.
Here are some suggestions as to items you could include in your portfolio.
- A summary of efforts and achievements in your area of special talent or special interest
- Evidences of your special interest or talent-related works
For example,
- For those applying under the Arts Special Talent area, relevant supporting evidence would include your art pieces or musical scores, recordings, dance choreography, etc.
- For those applying under the Leadership Special Talent area, relevant supporting evidence would include information and any evidence of projects you have undertaken, teams you have led, etc For those applying on grounds of Special Interest in Multimedia and Animation, relevant supporting evidence of your interest / talent would include animation clips, website designs, storyboard sketches, etc.
- For those applying for Film, Sound & Video and / or Mass Communication courses, samples of published or unpublished writing and at the least, a graded essay.
- Letters of recommendation or testimonials
- Awards certificates
- CCAs
- Key activities
- Examples of your other interests / hobbies
- Etc.
Tips- Organise your evidences and information logically. This will make it easier for the interviewers to read.
- Make your portfolio short, sharp, and interesting.
- Compile your evidences for easy handling by the interviewers.
