Preparing you for Ngee Ann's Learning Experience

If you are successful, you will join the Ngee Ann Preparatory Programme (NPP) commencing in mid-January. This is an integral foundation programme that all DPA students are expected to attend. This unique programme is specially tailored to give you a head start in poly learning and give you special insights into Ngee Ann’s brand of broad-based learning.

As you earn credit exemptions during the NPP, you will be freeing up as many as 180 hours of curriculum time when you join NP as a full-time student.

You can do a lot with this time! Here are some ideas:

● Get extra certification under our Diploma Plus programme. You get a stronger foundation in areas ranging from Innovation Management, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, and Economics to languages. These courses will not only put you ahead in the global market, but better prepare you for university education.
● Devote more time to your favourite CCAs.
● Take on enrichment modules that give you an edge in the job market.

Bringing you the best of Ngee Ann in 8 weeks!

Under the NPP, you will undertake at least 4 modules including a foundational module. Upon successful completion, you will be exempted from related modules in your course of study^ when you join Ngee Ann.

^ You will be assessed through a combination of project evaluation, quizzes, and reports.

Highlights of NPP

Orientation Programme
Dive into poly life via a high adrenalin teambuilding camp! Guided by your seniors, you will also get to explore the campus grounds by trying out and competing in a string of games and activities.

Overseas Leadership Programme
A 3-day overseas leadership programme in the region, this motivational elective will build confidence, teamwork and leadership qualities

Field Trips & Industry Visits
You will also have an up-close experience with the industries via field trips. You can expect visits to industries in the Business, Technology and Science clusters.

Sports & Wellness
An exciting module that offers you varied activities that are sure to work your muscles. Choose from five activities – aerobics, fencing, dancesport, wellness programme and yoga.

Out-of-the-box!
Ngee Ann student innovators start with an open enquiring mind. This module will hone your creative skills to think out-of-the-box. Be prepared to innovate, and even compete in the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ competition!

Mindworks
This module will bring you into the world of neurolinguistics and give you tips on how to enhance your daily performance to achieve your goals. Learn how language infleunces behaviour.

Foundational Modules

These are core discipline modules that are directly relevant to your course.

Mathematics
This module equips you with the fundamental mathematical skills needed to troubleshoot and solve practical problems.

Social Psychology & Communications
This module introduces different processes of human communication and examines the social influence on these processes.

Nominal fees

As the NPP is heavily subsidised by MOE, student fees will be affordable - S$150 for Singapore citizens, S$250 for PRs, and S$400 for foreigners for the 8-week course. Ngee Ann also provides financial assistance for students who need it.
