Selection Process

Entry into most of our courses is based on academic merit.

For some of our courses we need to know more about you, and may ask you to submit a portfolio or come to the Polytechnic for an interview as part of their additional selection criteria. These courses include:

Film, Sound & Video
Mass Communication

The interview is designed to assess your understanding of and aptitude for the above course(s) if they are indicated as your choice(s) in your application. It provides the interviewers with a valuable opportunity to know you better beyond your application. The interview gives you the opportunity to explain why you are committed to studying it.

Selection is based on your interview performance and demonstration of your aptitude.

Before your interview

i)Have I been shortlisted?

If you have been short-listed, you will receive a call from the Polytechnic to invite you for an interview, together with the interview details.

ii)What do I need to bring for the interview?

You are required to present a portfolio that shows evidence of passion / aptitude relating to the course(s) during the interview. Click here to find out what makes up a portfolio and some helpful tips.
