The Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) is administered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic to allow applicants who are ineligible under
JPAE to apply for admission to our full-time diploma courses.
In general, you are eligible under DAE 2015 if you are one of the following AND have met the additional requirements listed
Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level holder
Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level holder•
ITE Higher Nitec holder•
ITE Nitec holder
Integrated Programme (IP) Year 4 student•
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma holder•
International Qualifications holder•

Apply online through the DAE Portal
i) Submission of Application
Submit your application online through the
DAE Portal, using your NRIC/Passport and Date of Birth. You can include up to 3 choices for which you are eligible, but you will only receive one offer (for your highest eligible preference) if your application is successful. There is no upfront DAE application fee charged by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Once you submit your application, print a copy of the confirmation slip and attach it together with photocopies of documents supporting your application. A checklist of the supporting documents is provided in the confirmation slip for your reference.
After submission of the application, you should receive an email acknowledging the receipt of your application.

After you submit your application, you can change your choices and your particulars as many times as you like by re-submitting a fresh application until DAE application closes. However, you must submit the confirmation slip indicating your latest course choices.
An application is not considered complete until we receive the necessary supporting documents from you.
ii) Checking on the receipt of supporting documents
It is your responsibility to check if the Polytechnic has received your documents. To check on the receipt of your supporting documents sent directly to us, you can login online by visiting DAE Portal. Phone enquiries will not be entertained.
Entry into most of our courses is based on academic merit.
For some of our courses we need to know more about you, and may ask you to submit a portfolio or come to the Polytechnic for an interview as part of their additional selection criteria. These courses include:
•Film, Sound & Video•Mass Communication
The interview is designed to assess your understanding of and aptitude for the above course(s) if they are indicated as your choice(s) in your application. It provides the interviewers with a valuable opportunity to know you better beyond your application. The interview gives you the opportunity to explain why you are committed to studying it.
Selection is based on your interview performance and demonstration of your aptitude.
Before your interview
i) Have I been shortlisted?
If you have been short-listed, you will receive a call from the Polytechnic to invite you for an interview, together with the interview details.
ii) What do I need to bring for the interview?
You are required to present a portfolio that shows evidence of passion / aptitude relating to the course(s) during the interview. Click

The outcome of your application will be released online through the DAE Portal on different dates for different qualifications.
