Last semester, I was given a mission together with my fellow lecturer Tan Choon Peng (TCP) - organise and lead a troupe of up to 40 young ICT students on a 6-week overseas immersion programme. A shy and pretty Burmese girl left her homeland in Myanmar in 2000 for Singapore with a high school certificate and a no-small dream. She enrolled at Ngee Ann Poly, and graduated three years later with a Dip in IT, specialising in software engineering.

26 May 2007 - The one and only IT merit award at this year's TKKYIA went to an ICTian team. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong promised plenty of jobs when the new integrated resorts open in 2009, but Singaporeans will benefit only if they never stop learning. 15 July 2006 - 120 parents descended on the School today. The purpose? To meet the mentors of their kids, who had just joined as freshies in late April. Last Sunday, I finally found some time to take my car for a long overdue wash at the BP Petrol Station along Mounbatten Road. Originally silver white, it looked more like gray now because of the dirt and stains. 22 June 2006 - The flight to China's imperial capital took six hours. Returning to the Bukit Timah campus to teach has brought back many fond memories of school life and the enjoyable time as a student.
